1. The different choice of God.
The choice God made here is a kind of choice
to make a king over Israel
instead of a saved person of eternal life.
God did not choose a person to belong to Him (cf. 2 Kings 9:6-9)
but just to be a king.
2. Man's choice versus God's choice.
Regarding salvation
we discussed if man can reject God's offer of salvation
instead of how man can have and retain God's offer.
If God chose and led people or someone to somewhere,
God had to have Him promise or decision done,
and them or the person had to be there as a result.
For instance,
since God brought Israel out of Egypt into the desert,
Israel could not stand the sufferings and temptations on the way
and even preferred turning back to Egypt.
However,
God overrided their wish
and put some of them to death
and the others into the promised land.
Eventually God leaves no choice to man.
3. The different extents between man's choice and God's choice
The choice of God regarding His plan
is the beginning of that plan.
The choice of man regarding that plan
is a step of that plan (is part of that plan)
instead of a initative to trigger that plan.
